NFCPT Chief Executive Officer Honoured For 10 Years of Service

Swakopmund - The Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust recognised its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Victor Pea, as one of the 10-year long service award recipients during its 4th Long Service Award Ceremony held in Swakopmund on 05 December 2025.

Mr. Pea, who took over as the Trust’s Accounting Officer a decade ago, was acknowledged for his contribution to strengthening the organisation’s national operations and expanding its reach across the country. In her remarks, Board of Trustee, Mrs. Charlene Hartung, commended his role in guiding the Trust through a period of structural and operational improvement.

The NFCPT Trustee highlighted that Mr. Pea’s leadership has coincided with an increase in Namibia’s estimated fish consumption rate, which now stands at 18.07 kilograms per capita. She noted that the upward trend reflects wider access to fish in all regions and sustained efforts to promote it as part of the national diet through multiple outreach programs.

During his tenure, the Trust introduced a new approach to its distribution programme where, instead of operating solely through its own outlets, the Trust adopted a model that enables local businesses to participate in the fish retail chain through the Agency Distribution Programme. The initiative aims to fill service gaps in areas where the Trust has no physical presence, allowing community-based retailers to sell fish on its behalf and improve fish accessibility.

Mrs. Hartung further highlighted that the model has opened opportunities for small enterprises, while improving accessibility for consumers in remote areas, especially in rural areas were the consumption rate remains lower than urban settings.

Staff who attended the ceremony described Mr. Pea’s recognition as a reflection of the stability and continuity he has brought to the organisation since assuming its leadership. His decade of service was celebrated alongside other long-standing employees from various NFCPT offices and fish shops nationwide.
