Educational Seminar
The Educational Seminar is an annual one-day outreach event aimed at promoting fish consumption in rural and remote areas of the country where fish consumption levels are reported to be low. The seminar seeks to raise awareness about the nutritional benefits of fish and encourage communities to incorporate fish into their regular diets. It also provides information on opportunities within the fish retail industry, empowering participants with knowledge that can contribute to economic and livelihood development.
A key highlight of the seminar is the practical fish preparation demonstration, during which participants are guided through the proper handling, cleaning, and cooking of various fish species. These hands-on sessions are designed to build confidence in fish preparation and dispel misconceptions that may discourage consumption.
To further reinforce the message of the seminar, participants are treated to a fish luncheon featuring a variety of fish dishes. The luncheon provides community members with the opportunity to experience the taste, versatility, and nutritional value of fish firsthand, thereby encouraging the inclusion of fish in their daily diets and contributing to improved household nutrition.
